103 Thin Red Line
The 30th Cambridgeshire is really starting to come together now, you can see how well the rank up using the Warbase slotted trays.

102 All your bases are belong to me!!
Nice little skirmish formation for my rifle men! Warbases did a great job getting these out to me it felt like literally a blink and they had arrived.
On this one the two layers of the base dont perfectly line up but I think it should be pretty easy to cover up when I floc the base. You can see I also go little washer inserts for the models to be mounted on so they drop right in. You can use pennies, which was my original plan but these work great.
I also ordered some ranked up formations to put the 30th on. However I fail at reading and ordered them in 2x6 rather than 2x3 which is what I was thinking I would do! But no fear I will still use these as it will make life easier for storing I think.
You will notice that these have a small hole through the centre, this matches up to a identical hole in the base washer I mentioned and can hold a small magnet meaning you and magnetise the whole lot! Perfect.
Warbases will basically make any arrangement and any size you need so go check them out!

101 Tomb Wraith
Such a classic miniature this one has been used again and again for conversions and it was my first use of it so I wanted to go for the original style.
I tried to include a few different colours in it to avoid it ending up too dull and I am quite pleased with the result.
I went for the more simple of the heads but he is only blu tacked right now so I may swap him out.
He looks quiet good alongside the Liche King too

100 The Rise of Mars
As many others I am sure, I picked up some of the starter bundles that GW released in the New Year. A bargain already I got them for another 20% on line from elementgames, win!
The first thing I am looking to put together is the Tech Priest from the Mechanicus box, now I already had this as a stand alone sprue but this will be the fist one I have put together.
It comes with a not too amazing construction guide but I guess it gives you a clue as to some of the parts.
The main body parts go together pretty easy and obvious and its a very interesting form compared to much of the traditional GW fare.
I drilled and pinned the obvious large parts to make painting easier. Connecting the weapon arm ahead of time as its not too bulk.
More on this will follow soon!
And w00t! 100 posts!

099 Continuing the Tomb Kings
I finally got round to putting some more paint on a Tomb Kings model! Ok this was mostly an excuse to break away from painting red and white on my Napoleonics but hey give me a break!
I had originally planned to tie the colours of my Tomb Kings and Vampire Counts together so that both would work when side by side but having seen my Prince Apophas end up all green I thought I should try and carry on that scheme through the Tomb Kings as a whole.
To be honest I am not sure yet, the one additional character model I have completed (do I ever really finish a model??) doesn't really scream success to me but I can see that it would work.
I experimented with different gold/bronze this time round to see what would work, I even tried some of the technical paints to see if I could make corroded bronze work but I think I didn't put enough effort in so you can hardly tell its there at all.
The Tomb priest itself provided a bit of a quandary to me in the end with regards to his skin. I wanted to avoid a weathered fleshy look as it would take away from the already pale bandages et al so I thought I would go proper dark mummified look but I am not sure I pulled it off. Maybe I need to add in some brown tones rather than just the grey/blacks....

098 Everything was Red in the 90s!
Desperately in need of a paint strip and rework this guy was the height of cool to my young eyes back in the 90s. He was one of the biggest none vehicle models if I recall correctly and if nothing else he was a living God! Bonus cool points right there.
GW was heavy into its "Red" painting period and I guess that influenced me quite a lot! The good ole Goblin Green bases were a must then as well.
I think forgeworld did an update on him with a spear? It would be cool to see him reborn in Plastic in Nagash style.... the thing of dreams!
097 Inquisitor - 54mm
These guys are from the old Specialist Game, Inquisitor which as far as I could tell at the time was an excuse to make 54mm models!
096 Based for War
My work on the 30th Cambridgeshire Regiment has been moving on at pace (all be it a snails pace) and I have started to think about how to base them. I have read around and around about 4x2, 6x2, one model per 15mm of a 45mm frontage and a plethora of other ideas and have concluded that I don't really care. I am so unlikely to ever actually game with them that the only possible reason not to simple go with whatever suits me would be any resale ability of a certain base type but to be honest that too is of little concern to me.
I have ordered some 1p slot movement trays from Warbases.co.uk which I may or may not use exactly as intended with a small magnetic insert. I have gone for a ranked up arrangement for the 30th itself and am going to test out a casual grouping for the 95th to see how that looks.
They do way more than just bases and trays and have a huge range of scenery including some great items like bridges.
I'll be doing a mini review of these when they arrive so watch out for it.

095 For the sake of Fluff
Fluff, no not that wispy grey junk you pull from your belly button, Fluff. The background, the Lore, the History of the people and places of the worlds we imagine for our creations to live, love and war in.
I must first admit that while I am a HUGE fan of well written Fluff, I almost never read what could be more commonly called "fan fiction" as in general I have found it to be a lot of overworked, dry, lifeless drivel. That being said I very much appreciate that most of you fine readers may well share that thought and equally that opinion of MY work so feel free to move on rather than continue reading! I know I would.
